WHAT YOU'LL DO


Within the PIPE (Principle Investors Private Equity) and CFS Corporate Finance & Strategy) ringfences we bring together a diverse mix of consultants to ensure that we are supporting our clients on private equity, sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, tech capital investors, infrastructure investors and real estate funds, family offices, credit or distressed funds, and hedge funds (for PIPE) and on Strategy, Disruption & Reinvention, Corporate Finance, and Transactions & Integrations (for CFS). As a member of the ringfence staffing team, you will be responsible for supporting the L-A-B (London, Amsterdam, Brussels) staffing team in implementing the people deployment and staffing strategy. This includes managing both short-term and long-term priorities, adapting to shifting business needs. Your main focus will be on staffing and billability of Associates, Senior Associates and Consultants (ACs) in the PIPE and CFS ringfences. You will be working closely with counterparts and reporting to the Ringfence Staffing Senior Manager. You will collaborate with Managing Directors and Partners (MDPs) and the L-A-B staffing team to achieve optimal deployment of Consultants and ensure effective communication with relevant A-C Staffing Managers. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of staffing assignments, prepare and run staffing pipeline meetings, and support cross-office staffing when necessary.

What will you do:

As a successful candidate you will take on responsibilities including:

  • Collaborate with Managing Directors & Partners and the L-A-B staffing team to achieve optimum deployment of your Associates and Consultants.
  • Monitor and manage the billability of your ACs, identifying emerging peaks and troughs and taking appropriate measures in collaboration with the wider staffing teams.
  • Regularly meet with ACs to understand their staffing needs, advise them on current cases, and gain insights into their goals, preferences, and expertise.
  • Communicate daily with Ringfence Staffing Senior Manager to understand staffing pipeline and business needs.
  • Communicate weekly with the generalist staffing team to understand overlapping requests and lead conversations for all ringfence related queries.
  • Prepare and facilitate weekly staffing pipeline meetings/calls with the Practice Area nodes and MDPs.
  • Maintain accurate records of staffing assignments on our staffing tool.
  • Manage all freecap requests that come in through out the week, having to prioritise when necessary.
  • Coordinate with staffing counterparts across the system to ensure appropriate staffing across all levels and offices.
  • Communicate the staffing process with Managing Directors, Partners, and consultants to maintain an up-to-date view of the project pipeline and business needs.
  • Support and promote cross-office staffing when relevant.
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to understand the schedule and availability of staff.
  • Liaise with the recruitment team to discuss new joiners i.e background/ skill set/ interview feedback and any other key information to identify the most relevant staffing opportunities ahead of their first day.
  • Provide holiday cover to the other ringfence staffers when required.
  • Manage the A/C vacation/flexileave requests ensuring they align with local policy/case teams and business needs.
  • Manage the secondment/mobility/transfer requests efficiently with relevant teams and Practice Area leadership.
  • Produce ad hoc reports and updates as required.
  • Attend Career Development Committee (CDC) meetings for all your A/Cs across LAB.
  • Provide input to CDC meetings and take action on next steps as relevant for staffing.
  • Work with CDC and the broader HR team to manage exceptional staffing situations such as staff returning from leave of absence or personnel issues.
  • Keep the PTO/Next Gen team regularly informed of new cases and the team structure and work together to identify case teams/ individuals who could benefit from extra support.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)


  • 2-3 years of relevant HR experience or University degree and demonstrated high academic achievement
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written communication)
  • Ability to understand and navigate complex organisations with many stakeholders independently
  • Ability to effectively persuade and influence at all levels of seniority
  • Experience in a fast-paced service-oriented environment, managing competing deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
