What will you do: TheProgram Leader provides direct services and supports for individuals with disabilities. A Program Leader is responsible for a variety of activities such as planning and leading opportunities for growth and development, working directly with individuals to encourage participation in activities, providing instruction, and carrying out supports related to the physical well-being and comfort of persons served.
Overall Duties Include:
- Provides instruction, support, and supervision to one or more persons served in a variety of activities and environments.
- Responsible for the safety of individuals served including observing and meeting safety requirements in both facility and community-based activities.
- Assist individuals with eating, toileting, personal hygiene, dressing, and other daily living skills as needed.
- Provide physical assistance to persons served including transferring, pushing wheelchairs, loading, and unloading from vehicles, and physical guidance as needed.
- Maintain individual records and submit accurate reports per procedures established by the department. Includes initiating communication (oral and written) on successes, specific problems, or concerns of persons served.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans, goals and objectives, based on the needs/interests of persons served.
What do you bring to this position:
- Education in rehabilitation counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or related field preferred
- 2 years hands on experience and/or training working with individuals with disabilities
- Computer skills and knowledge including MS Office, Google, email
- Working effectively with a variety of personalities and to be sensitive to the needs/communication of persons with differing abilities
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Eager to learn and willing to be trained, a jump in and do it type of attitude
- Ability to clear Criminal Record background check
