Due to our continued commitment in supporting people suffering with substance misuse problems, Change Grow Live are looking for a Recovery Coordinator to join our busy Birmingham service as part of the Blue Light Project team. Working in partnership with emergency services, you will support and engage drinkers who are not in contact with treatment services, and who have complex needs.

- Provide flexible assertive outreach support to engage change resistant drinkers, who are resistant to engage with the substance misuse service
- Assertively engage with priority change resistant drinkers, such as those regularly presenting to emergency and criminal justice services, and those regularly disengaging from treatment services
- Identify barriers to change to support development of engagement plans
- Provide a range of Psycho-social interventions for substance misusers including advice and information, education and sign posting
- Identify and support access to community resources to support minimising harm and promoting recovery within the community
- Provide advice, information, support and training to the emergency and criminal justice services on blue light and substance use issues
- Attend appropriate internal and external meetings including team meetings, case conferences, and to represent the service at formal meetings and hearings
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
- Experience of assertive outreach and community working
- Demonstrable knowledge of the blue light model would be an advantage but not essential
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
- Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
