Avaliable Job Today The AA 5 Red Star Merchant Hotel in Belfast has 62 bedrooms and is a harmonious blend of Victorian grandeur and Art Deco inspired sleek modernity.  Situated in the heart of Belfast city centre's historic Cathedral Quarter, the grandeur of the original Grade A listed building is complemented by an elegant Art Deco inspired wing with a multitude of exciting amenities.

The Merchant Hotel has currently got an exciting opportunity for a full time permanent Receptionist

Reporting to the Front of House Manager and Assistant Front of House Manager, the successful candidate will ensure the front desk operates in an organized manner, pro-actively anticipate guest needs and deal with all guest enquires in a pleasant and efficient manner.

The essential criteria for this position is:

  • At least one years’ experience working in a similar reception position.
  • An understanding of the importance of quality guest service.
  • Excellent Communication skills with an excellent command of the English language.
  • Excellent Presentation and Interpersonal skills.
  • Effective Organisational Skills.
  • A good working knowledge of Front Office Systems and good IT skills

The role of receptionist at The Merchant Hotel:

  • To provide a warm welcome to all our guests and visitors in the area of Front of House whilst offering assistance throughout their stay/experience in our hotel, in order to both meet and exceed their expectations.
  • Administrative support for Front of House
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Hotel and all operations
  • To be familiar and up to date with hotels offers (special packages, restaurants, services)
  • To work at maintaining the department’s and hotel’s AA Red Star grading
  • Shift work to include evenings and weekends
  • Working with the hotels booking systems, full training will be provided
