The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is looking for a Receptionist to join the friendly supportive team based at Acorn House, Gloucester. This is an exciting time to join our high performing CAMHS team as we continue to expand and develop the range of interventions we offer.
The successful applicant will work as part of a team, providing the first point of contact for young people, their families and professionals. You will have a professional, committed and empathetic approach whilst maintaining confidentiality. You will enjoy working as part of a team demonstrating flexibility and the willingness to contribute to, and become fully involved in, service improvements.
This is a busy but rewarding post, previous reception experience is essential. Working closely with the team you will be responsible for a range of activities, including use of a bespoke patient database and Microsoft office packages. You will need to be highly organised, have excellent IT skills, able to deal with changing priorities and remain calm under pressure. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

- To provide a reception and switchboard service to all visitors, staff and callers, maintaining an efficient, professional and friendly service.
- To project the professional image of the business through demonstrating excellent customer care in all activities.
- Meet young people, relatives, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, assisting them with enquiries and directing or escorting them to their destination as required
- To deal competently and discreetly with queries either face to face or via the telephone using agreed protocols
- Accurate message-taking and timely distribution.
- Update patient data base with details of contact and actions
- Process and distribute incoming mail.
- Manage reception email inbox actioning in line with protocols
- Maintain building/staff information in support of the Site Responsible Officer.
- To manage electronic room booking system for the Unit.
- To keep the reception / waiting areas tidy and ensure notice boards are up to date
- To provide cover for other administrative staff in their absence or as required by the administration manager
- To ensure that statutory/mandatory training compliance is maintained
- To undertake any other duties as and when required
