Job description

Breckland School, Brandon, Suffolk

Part-Time Receptionist

Job start: September 2023

Job type: Permanent, part time (22.5 hours per week - three days per week, term time plus 1 week, 8am-4pm)

Salary: Grade 3 SP4-6 (FTE £23,114 - £23,893 / Actual £12,022 - £12,427 per annum)

Why do you want to be a Receptionist at Breckland School?

The answer is a simple one, this is an exciting opportunity to join our school following its “Good” Ofsted inspection in November 2022, to help achieve ‘excellence’ in all we do, this includes our people.

We will offer:

  • Job satisfaction through making a positive impact on our student’s lives
  • Friendly and supportive working environment
  • Supportive and positive management
  • Investment in your training and development including level 3 to 6 courses available under the apprenticeship levy
  • Excellent career development opportunities in our school and across the trust including secondments to other trust schools
  • Wellbeing support service and staff wellbeing day
  • Trust wide professional development and wellbeing day for all staff

You want to be part of the hard-working administration team at Breckland School. You will be front of house, greeting visitors and assisting parents and students with queries. You should be professional and calm in your manner and be able to work in collaboration with staff colleagues to provide comprehensive administration support. You should have a desire to work with young people; previous experience of working in a school is desirable but not essential.

It is important to belong at work and the work you do is relied upon by our students, so even small positive differences which are made, make people very happy. We want to ensure you have a good work life balance and one of the ways we achieve this is by having a two-week autumn half term break.

You can view a full list of requirements and further information about the school and trust in the candidate pack. If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role, even if you don’t meet all the requirements, please apply as we may be able to support you in any areas for development or we may have alternative roles that are a good fit for you. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.

At Unity Schools Partnership our objective is to smash through barriers to make remarkable change happen. We pride ourselves on being an educational organisation that puts children first, going the extra mile for the vulnerable and disadvantaged, and every one of us has an impact on unlocking our students’ potential.

We are committed to providing a working environment where our employees can grow and thrive. We value collaboration, wellbeing, diversity, equality and work-life balance. Throughout our diverse family of schools and within our vibrant central hub we nurture talent, whether you are at the beginning of your career or looking to grow your expertise.

We would encourage applicants to arrange a visit to our school, please contact Mrs Rebecca Ashley, Head’s PA and Office Manager [email protected] or via school reception on 01842 819501.

Closing Date: 9am Wednesday 26th July 2023

Interviews: Friday 28th July 2023

We will review applications on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position early.
