Job description
We are a friendly GP Practice in the heart of Finsbury Park looking for a maternity cover medical receptionist to join our Reception Team on a fixed term 12 month contract. The hours are approximately 25 hours per week Monday - Friday, pat-time working 7am-12, Wednesday 7am - 1pm to attend Reception Meeting. Experience of working in a GP Surgery and a working knowledge of EMIS Web is desirable but not essential. Please forward a current Curriculum Vitae with a covering letter.
Main duties
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Signpost patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
f. Photocopy documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Input data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
j. Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
k. Carry out system searches as requested
l. Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
m. Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
