What you’ll be responsible for:

· Provide a welcoming environment for service users and visitors.

· Efficiently operate the EMIS appointment system for the clinical staff and undertake the day-to-day administration of the reception area.

· Ensuring that the clinical team are aware of any individual patients in urgent need of medical care.

· Maintaining an efficient system for the provision of repeat prescriptions, liaising between patients and clinical staff to ensure the timely provision of repeat medication following agreed protocols.

· Always maintain accurate medical records and act in a manner that protects patient confidentiality including the correct storage and handling of patient records.

· Ensure that new records and patient related information is filed in the patient’s record promptly and in an appropriate manner.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.

· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.

· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

· System knowledge - EMIS or other patient system (desirable)

· Previous experience in a GP or Health Care environment

· Emotional Resilience

· Attention to detail / good patient facing skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Excellent IT skills

· Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
