About the Trust
We deliver district general services to 2.5m residents of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, and its surrounding communities. Our specialist services allow us to deliver care to 4.5m people from across the East Midlands and nationally for a handful of services. QMC is where our Emergency Department (ED), Major Trauma Centre and the Nottingham Children’s Hospital are based. It is also home to the University of Nottingham’s School of Nursing and Medical School. Nottingham City Hospital is our planned care site, where our cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based, and where some of our emergency admissions units are located. Ropewalk House is where we providea range of outpatient services, including hearing services.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Print clinic lists from Medway PAS in advance of clinic date and, using Medway PAS.
· Create thin file for patients’ outpatient clinic appointments
· Greet patients at reception, check their appointments on the system and direct them to the appropriate areas within the department, always ensuring patient confidentiality
· Deal appropriately with enquiries from staff and the public, seeking advice or referring elsewhere if necessary
· Keep personally updated and be able to advise patients in relation to peripheral services available, i.e. transport, interpreting services etc.
· Receive and respond to enquiries from relatives/external agencies always adhering to Trust confidentiality guidelines
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
· An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
· Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
· A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· System knowledge – CareFlow
· Administration experience
· Excellent IT skills
· Excellent communication skills
· Excellent telephone manner
· Microsoft Office package knowledge e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel
