An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Receptionist position on the Acute Medical Receiving unit and the newly formed Same day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit on A floor - working between the two areas.
Patients from the Emergency Department as well as from GPs and a variety of other routes.
Both areas are extremely busy, with high numbers of admissions and discharges and ward pressures.
You will have good organisational skills and an excellent telephone manner. You must be able to manage your work load and prioritise effectively as well as having good communication skills and will be professional at all times. You must be committed to a high standard of patient care and safety.
We are looking for someone welcoming, enthusiastic, hard working and organised to join our team.
Main duties of the job
Being situated at the front door means a very varied role day to day! You will be ensuring patients are admitted, transferred and discharged on Careflow in a timely manner, answering telephone calls, directing patients and relatives appropriately, filing and completing general administrative duties.
You must have a flexible attitude to work and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Part time hours can be considered. (long shifts, days, nights, Twilights , weekends and bank holidays) will be part of the contract.

AMRA and SDEC are fast paced environments, taking patients from the Emergency Department who require short stay care or are in need of further assessment.
Acute Medicine is large team but we aim to always look out for one another and are keen to develop each other, both professionally and personally. We pride ourselves on our teamwork and willingness to engage with each other to ensure that even the most difficult of shifts are managed.

- Evidence of personal development in previous role
- GCSEs or Equivalent in English & Maths to grade C or above
Experience

- Experience in Customer Service or Reception/Office duties

- Typing experience/RSA/Ability to use computer systems
- Experience in an Acute Hospital Trust

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
