We are currently recruiting for a Hotel Receptionist (Full time) to join us at our 50 bedroom Hartsfield Manor, based in Betchworth, Surrey.
We would also consider a Senior Receptionist or Reception Supervisor, depending on experience.
Aim: To greet all customers that come to the hotel. To offer a friendly and welcoming presence as the first person customers will see in the hotel.
Job responsibilities:
· Meeting & Greeting customers
· Offering assistance to guests coming into the hotel
· Managing the switchboard with bookings & enquiries
· Checking guests in and out of the hotel efficiently. (See below)
· Communicating information between departments to help with the smooth running of the hotel
· To adhere to opening and closing checks that are set out by the senior receptionist & management.
· Taking & confirming hotel reservations
· Balancing cash and credit card payments taken throughout the hotel. Make sure the till is left with sufficient change
· Managing check outs with the housekeeping team to support an efficient system
· Maintaining a clean and tidy reception area referring to the cleaning check sheet
· Ensure a good knowledge of the local area which can be relayed to guests
· Informative message taking – emailing contact details to relevant parties
· Typing menu’s etc when required
· Ensure all functions are charged correctly
· Ensuring old newspapers are thrown away each day and the newspaper table is kept neat and tidy
· Ensure light music is playing at all times throughout the hotel
· Ensure the post is ready to be sent each morning
· Ensure reception desk is presentable for when clients come to the desk
· Ensure a thorough handover is done between shifts
· Pass on any maintenance feedback into maintenance folder
· Ensure all bookings have back up in filing cabinet
Guest Check-in
· Greet the client
· Check their details and their length of stay
· Inform guests where their room is situated (by pointing to paper) and if they would require any assistance with luggage
· Ask the guest if they would like to book a table for dinner – Ensure they see the dinner menu (Explain times)
· Ask the guest if they would like a newspaper ordered
· Ask if you can be any further assistance
Guest Check-out
· Ask the guest if they enjoyed their stay
· Ask them if anything would of improved their stay at the hotel
· Wish them a good day and thank them for their business
