Receptionist
We are currently searching for a passionate and hard working individual to join our Reservations Team. There are full time, and part time positions available, to support the smooth and effective operation of all eating and drinking spaces at Housel Bay.
We have two restaurants and a bar, each offering different experiences for our guests. These include our ‘Marconi’s Bar’, our casual dining restaurant ‘The Terrace’, and our signature restaurant ‘Fallowfields’. ‘Fallowfields’ currently has two AA Rosette Awards, and we have also just been nominated for ‘Best Hotel’ in the 2021 Trencherman’s Guide. You will support our core mission of creating a memorable experience to all of our guests, whilst showcasing the very best seasonal local dishes Cornwall has to offer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an exciting and unique environment, whilst building your experience within the hospitality industry. We are ideally looking for someone who is flexible, and willing to work across departments within the hotel.

What you'll do.
- Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests, to ensure a superb customer service experience
- Build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints/issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service
- Deal with guest requests to ensure a comfortable and special stay
- Assist in dealing with customer complaints in an effective and courteous manner, providing or seeking solutions as quickly as possible
- Be responsible for accurate and efficient accounts and guest billing processes
- Undertake general office duties, including correspondence, emails, filing and switchboard, to ensure the smooth running of the reception area
- Administer all routes of reservations to ensure that room bookings are made and recorded accurately
- Ensure that all reservations and cancellations are processed efficiently
- Keep up to date with room prices and special offers to provide accurate information to guests
- Report any maintenance, breakage or cleanliness problems to the relevant manager
- Administer the general petty cash system and float in an accurate manner
- Undertake all training as required (eg. first aid, health and safety, customer service)
- Ensure that the Health % Safety Acts and Company safety and security policies are followed
- Adhere to all fire safety test procedures and to assist in the evacuation process in the event of fire
- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties (bar and restaurant work) relevant to the post as and when required
- Welcome and greet guests

- Computer literate - ideally familiar with Eviivo and ResDiary

Expected Shifts
Full time hours every week to cover a mix of breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend shifts.

Competitive salary plus a proportional share of all hotel tips
