We are currently recruiting for a Hotel Receptionist to join us at our 50 bedroom Hartsfield Manor in Betchworth, Surrey. This role also requires the candidate to work closely with our Events team, taking any function enquiries, hotel show around, selling the venue for parties, weddings, business meetings etc.
Duties & Responsibilities:
o Meeting & Greeting customers
o Offering assistance to guests coming into the hotel
o Managing incoming telephone calls with bookings & enquiries
o Checking guests in and out of the hotel efficiently. (See below)
o Communicating information between departments to help with the smooth running of the hotel
o To adhere to opening and closing checks that are set out by the senior receptionist & management.
o Taking & confirming hotel reservations
o Knows the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property.
o Coordinates room status updates with the housekeeping department by notification housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms
o Balancing cash and credit card payments taken throughout the hotel. Make sure the till is left with sufficient change
o Uses suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
o Managing check outs with the housekeeping team to support an efficient system
o Maintaining a clean and tidy reception area referring to the cleaning checksheet
o Ensure a good knowledge of the local area which can be relayed to guests
o Informative message taking – emailing contact details to relevant parties
o Typing menu’s etc when required
o Ensure all functions are charged correctly
o Ensure light music is playing at all times throughout the hotel
o Ensure the post is ready to be sent each morning
o Ensure reception desk is presentable and clean for when clients come to the desk
o Ensure a thorough handover is done between shifts
o Pass on any maintenance feedback into maintenance folder
o Ensure all bookings have back up in filing cabinet
o Support to other departments during quiet periods e.g. F & B Service, Housekeeping & Events
