Job description
You will be working as part of the day surgery team in Gloucester Royal Hospital delivering exceptional care for the patients attending the unit. Day case surgery is becoming more common, it now makes up approximately 70% of all surgery performed. The patients will expect, and will receive, the highest standards of professional care by all members of the team who will be involved. The role is varied and no two days are the same.You will be working in direct or semi direct contact with inpatients, relatives, site management and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, doctors and pharmacists amongst other professionals. You will be one of the first faces our patients and relatives will see when they first walk into our unit, and you will be dealing with queries face to face, on the phone and via email. For this reason, the post holder will have excellent communication and spelling skills alongside the ability to multi task and remain calm under pressure.
