I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic primary school ten minutes’ walk from the centre of town. They are looking to imminently fill the vacancy of a receptionist to fit their friendly, welcoming team. Someone who is just as comfortable picking up the phone as they are to responding to emails. The ideal candidate would thrive in a busy environment, who is at their best juggling multiple responsibilities whilst being the first point of contact for both visitors and callers to the school.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant school in the heart of its community. The school is initially looking to hire on a temporary basis, however for the right candidate there is every intention of this becoming a permanent position early into the new academic year.
Job Description
- Act as facing first point of call for all visitors and telephone calls.
- Meet and greet visitors.
- Meet and great visitors, ensuring each individual visitor completes the visitor security processes.
- Manage schools primary contact email address, ensuring all relevant correspondents is directed to the school headteacher.
- Be first point of contact for parents managing pupil absence calls and communicating these to the relevant class teacher.
- Maintain strong relationships with parents, collating appropriate documents and forms eg consent forms and school trip information.
- Maintain and manage school lost property.
- Maintain and manage first aid supplies and ensure correct documentation of first aid episodes within the first aid incident book.
- Carry out general administrative duties or other duties deemed reasonable by the headteacher.
Key Information
- Working hours Monday to Friday 8.15-3.45
- Only required to work within term times
- Hourly rate – national living wage, however negotiable dependant on experience.
