Job description
Job description
Elston Veterinary Clinic has an opening for a receptionist, to join our friendly, supportive team.
This role is part-time, approximately 16-20 hours per week, and includes an occasional Saturday morning.
The main responsibilities are greeting our clients with their pets, handling their queries, and processing payments. You will be answering the phone and having online chats, booking appointments, while providing a balance of empathy and professionalism.
Previous veterinary receptionist experience is helpful but not required. Previous customer service experience is essential; the job can be fast paced at times. Attention to detail is needed.
This role requires excellent communication and relationship skills, the ability to work under pressure, good computer skills, a basic understanding of sales transactions, with outstanding attention to detail and consistency.
This is a client care position and not a student nurse role. Occasional cuddling puppies and kittens might be needed, but this is not a hands-on animals role. All members of the team are involved in cleaning and hygiene, because it is an animal healthcare environment. An appreciation of animals, and an understanding of the human-animal bond is important.
Your job is important to the whole team, and your organisational skills are valued and needed for supporting the nurses and vets. You will be looked after by our amazing client care team. You will be able to contribute your positive ideas to the development of the practice via regular team meetings.
This position requires some flexibility, to allow for cover of your colleagues’ holidays. You must be at a realistically commutable distance from our lovely village of Shrewton.
If you think you would enjoy this work and have enthusiasm with high standards to bring to our team, we would love to hear from you.
