Job description

Your job is to help guests to relax and unwind. You’ll offer a smooth and friendly check in, inform guests about what the hotel has to offer, as well as all the great attractions in the Borders. Right through until the guest departs you’ll deal with all their needs and wants, sort out any niggles, and make sure their visit is truly memorable.

Do you have what it takes?

As a receptionist you will be well presented, have a bright personality and be passionate about customer service and work hard to ensure the department runs efficiently. You will have excellent presentation skills, work well as part of a team and on your own, and have excellent communication skills as you will communicate with guests and colleagues on a daily basis.

The position is very hands on and you will be required to ensure the highest level of service is met. Exceptional customer service is at the heart of our hotel, so your friendly, welcoming personality, your enthusiasm and passion for hospitality, along with your genuine smile and desire to get it right for guests, will be required. Face to face customer service experience is essential.

Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage, as well as knowledge of booking/reservation/property management systems. Training on our booking/reservation/property management system will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out full check in and check out processes

To ensure all reservation and cancellations are processed

Answering of the switchboard and directing calls to relevant areas

Dealing with general enquiries over the desk, by phone or by email

Friendly and welcoming, and must have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on own

Good administrative skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office

Knowledge of Microsoft office and Computer Skills would be desired

Shifts: 7am - 3pm or 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Working days will include weekdays and weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £11.00 per hour
