Das Hund Haus Inc. in Lakeland, FL is looking for a receptionist to join our team! We are located on 3210 Reynolds Rd. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and hard-working. Multiple shifts available and pay is dependent on experience.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Receptionist to join our pet care team! Our ideal candidate is an animal lover who has some customer service or hospitality experience (ideal, but not required). You must be comfortable working with dogs of various breeds and sizes. The receptionist is the first face our customer see, so it is imperative that candidates are friendly, outgoing, and welcoming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- *Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner *Answer and screen phone calls *Maintain office cleanliness and organization of resources *Practice Safety and Sanitization protocols: Sanitize and maintain the upkeep of lobby area to eliminate injury and/or spread of diseases to other pet clients *Assist in generating business by calling both existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up phone calls and reminders to customers, and verifying vaccination records *Maintain online records of all pet clients to include services provided and vaccination records *Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties *Communicate necessary information, updates, or policy changes to clients
Characteristics and Qualifications:
- *Patience and compassion for animals *Comfort working with various breeds of dogs *Ability to safely handle and work with dogs that weigh over 100 lbs *Ability to accurately operate sales equipment such as computers, cash register, mobile POS system and other store equipment *Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners *Ability to read, write, and count to accurately complete all documentation *Strong interpersonal skills and ability to solve problems ethically and with minimal conflict *Ability to work independently and exhibit an acute attention to detail *Flexibility: While we try to assign regular schedules, staffing is dictated by business needs and includes varied hours, days, evenings, weekends and overtime
Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates with prior customer service experience or training through an internship or apprenticeship are given priority. Past experience is not required however, as we are more than willing to train the right candidate.
Physical Requirements:
This position is only semi-sedentary. It is essential for those in this position to have the physical and mental stamina and ability to move throughout the business and outdoor areas quickly and safely. Team Members in this role must have the physical and mental ability to perform the following tasks (with or without reasonable accommodations):
- *Ability to move and transfer equipment and merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds and store items in overhead areas *Ability to move and transfer live animals weighing over 100 pounds *Ability to frequently stand, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop and squat to position oneself to care for animals, clean shelves, stock merchandise and equipment as business needs dictate
