Come and join the crew here at Clip ‘n Climb – Your award-winning ‘climbing centre meets theme park’ right here in Cambridge – as we are on the lookout for a new Receptionist. We are looking for someone to join us for 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Hours will generally be from late morning/early afternoon to early evening during term time, and 9am to late afternoon during school holidays.
This is a fixed term contract for 12 months.
Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge is part of Walthew Leisure Limited, an independent family-run company, owned and operated by Chris and Beth Walthew. We opened Cambridge Clip ‘n Climb in 2016 and have since welcomed over hundreds of thousands climbers through our door. We also have a second centre in Milton Keynes, Climb Quest.

As our Receptionist, your primary role is to be the first point of contact to customers, and effectively managing all enquiries and bookings.
Reporting to the Front of House and Café Manager, you will be the eyes and ears on all of our telephone, email and social media enquiries. You will effectively manage all of our group bookings, making sure that all of our guests have the right information for their booking, being in regular communication to finalise details, and ensuring everyone on the team is up to date with the guests we can expect. You will a whizz at admin, great at written communication, and a friendly point of contact for our guests. You will be used to dealing with lots of information, and be able to order it in a way that your finger is always on the pulse! You will also be the main person answering questions and reviews online, so it’s great if you are used to using either Facebook or Instagram.
The Receptionist will also provide support to the FOH and Café Manager in our café, stock room and kitchen, and will be involved in ordering stock, food preparation, health and food safety, and serving in our café.
So - WHO is it we are looking for?
We believe that you will be someone coming with:
- A strong customer service background; this is a must - as is being someone with drive, ambition and enthusiasm to achieve.
- Excellent communication skills on the phone, in person and online
- Experience of using social media
- Experience of using a booking/finance system would be great, but not essential. However, you definitely need to be comfortable with using technology.
- Over 18 years old
