This role is a full-time role, term time only (including inset days)
Salary - £20,252 (FTE for 37 hour week) – Equates to £20,964 per annum
The Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and effective, Receptionist. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the effective running of the Trust and its school(s); providing reception and administrative support under the direction and guidance of the PA to the Vice Principals and Administration Team Manager. You will need to be able to deal with visitors in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring enquiries are dealt with from start to finish; accurate record keeping being essential.
The role involves dealing with confidential and sensitive information and working within recognised policies and procedures; the work may involve responding independently to unexpected problems and situations, although there is access to a supervisor or manager for advice and guidance. Working well under pressure and having a high attention to detail is paramount, managing your own time effectively so that tasks are completely in a timely manner.
You will need to develop an awareness of the Academy’s academic calendar including all activities and events throughout the year.
As part of the of the administration team you will need to have experience of Microsoft Office packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience using SIMS is desirable, but training will be given.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. As the first point of contact, you will welcome visitors to the school, following the correct sign in procedures, contacting relevant personnel and dealing with enquiries in a polite and professional manner ensuring that all queries are resolved, or directed as necessary and appropriate.
2. Monitor enquiries via email ensuring that all queries are resolved, or directed as necessary and appropriate.
3. Communicate effectively with parents/carers for ‘whole school’ matters, through email, text, Class Charts or telephone.
4. Administer unidentified/non-specific lost property.
5. Ensure the Reception area is kept neat and tidy.
6. Manage deliveries, ensuring recipients know their parcel has arrived.
