Blyth Family Dental Practice is a very busy predominantly NHS dental practice. We are looking for a full-time receptionist to join our team (part time would be considered for the right candidate).

We are seeking a receptionist to join our friendly team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, good IT skills; they will be well presented, friendly and highly motivated with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Previous experience of using Exact software will be an advantage. Dental knowledge is essential, would ideally suit a qualified dental nurse or a receptionist with experience of working in a dental practice.
As a receptionist, you will be providing a personal service to our patients throughout their visit to the practice. You will contribute to the first impressions of our patients and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards.
Employment Duties:
- Ensure that reception runs smoothly and efficiently
- Meet and greet patients with a friendly manner
- Answer telephone calls and queries, making or amending appointments
- Update patient’s computer records as necessary
- Take payments and update patients finance records on the computer system
- Liaise with colleagues and dental laboratories
- Follow all practice policies and procedures
- Follow Health & Safety Codes, C.O.S.H.H and R.I.D.D.O.R. guidelines at all times
- Obey all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality, Data Protection and Child Protection

Terms of Employment:
- Full time hours: 40 hours per week
- 8.45 am – 5.45 pm, Monday to Friday
- In your first year of service you will receive 20 days paid holiday plus Bank Holidays.
- In your second year this will increase to 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
- After two years service you will receive 28 days plus Bank Holidays
- The successful applicant will require a DBS check, which will be paid for by the employer
- Your salary will be between £23,000 and £26,000 per annum depending on experience (pro rata for part time hours)
- Qualified staff will have their annual GDC and CPD subscriptions paid for by the practice
