Are you looking for an opportunity to join a professional, customer service focused 'Front of House' reception team?
If so, we are recruiting for a high-calibre Receptionist to join our team within the Estates and Facilities Department.
Located at the City Centre and City South Campuses
This role is eligible for an 8% Market Supplement applied on top of the listed salary.
Reporting to the Switchboard and Reception Supervisor the successful candidate will:
- Provide a high quality reception service, with the emphasis on customer care
- Be an efficient and effective first-point customer contact every time
- Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads
- Provide a high level of customer satisfaction
- Assist with administrative tasks where required
- Provide switchboard support when needed
- Develop quality inter-departmental working relationships
You will:
- Have a proven track record working as a receptionist
- Have a smart and professional appearance with exceptional communication skills
- Be able to demonstrate computer literacy and be proficient in Word and Excel
- Good standard of written English
- Computer literate, proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes
- Smart, professional presentation and appearance.
- Pleasant manner
- Educated to GCSE O Level standard or GCSE Grades A to C or Scottish Standard grades
- Significant additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Customer care training would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of acting in a customer service, enquiry handling role as a receptionist or switchboard operator.
- Experience within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage.
- Experience of dealing with difficult enquirers sensitively and sympathetically.
- Knowledge of Higher Education and an understanding of the types of enquiries facing a University and its Faculties.
- Excellent oral communication skills and a good telephone manner.
