Tues 0830 - 1230
Weds 0830 - 1230
Fri 0830 - 1130 & 1230 - 1630

Receptionist Duties
Receiving patients, register attendances, collect any information from them that will make the task of consultation easier.
Receive incoming telephone calls, record messages and home visit requests accurately in a standardised way and make contact with other members of the primary health care team.
Understand and carry out procedures that have to be undertaken in emergency situations.
Administer the waiting rooms, both downstairs and upstairs.
Use the computer software programmes appropriately for the benefit of provision of patient care.
Tidy rooms and replace stocks and supplies.
Maintain and upkeep all electronic records, ledgers etc to the best of your ability.
Ensure accurate record of any money transactions including the giving and receiving of receipts.
Make appointments and take requests for prescriptions.
Process repeat prescriptions or sick certificates as required and in line with Practice protocols.
Recognise the importance of dealing with people who are ill, deaf, disabled or of a suicidal nature.
Recognise the importance of confidentiality as any breach of this, no matter how small, can lead to instant dismissal. If appropriate, offer to see patients in one of the quiet interview rooms or one of the consulting rooms to ensure privacy.
Recognise the importance of keeping the reception area tidy and ensure you personally have a clean and tidy appearance.
Inform patients of their rights under GDPR and the method (and charge where appropriate) for obtaining data relevant to them.
Ensure you are able to use the computer to a standard enabling you to perform necessary tasks.
When a particular responsibility falls to you, please ensure you have arranged for someone else to cover this in your absence.
Ensure you keep up to date with all Practice protocols and attend both in-house and external training courses as suggested by your Manager.
Scan documents and process appropriately in line with scanning protocol to be provided to you in the Practice.
Starting salary is £9.79 per hour, rising to £10.20 on completion of successful probationary period.
