THE JOB AND WHAT'S INVOLVED
Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately; notifies company personnel of visitor arrival; maintains security and telecommunications system.
We are looking for one full time and one part time.
MAIN DUTIES
To understand the booking system so they can schedule tables.
To answer the phone, check email requests or speak to customers who walk in and request a table at the restaurant.
To convey the day, time and number of guests reserved to other members of the staff, once the booking is scheduled.
To confirm the table is prepared just before the party arrives.
To greet incoming guests.
To issue an approximate waiting time to diners who have not reserved a table.
To deal with a busy entrance way containing impatient customers
To show the guests to their table once it is ready, seats them.
To be prepared to liaise between the diners and other members of the staff to ensure the customer receives satisfying service.
To do minor administrative work: drawing up booking schedule sheets, completing daily reports and other office duties.
To help clean the restaurant and its reception area.
To attend staff meetings and communicate with all departments to maintain a high restaurant standard.
PERSONAL QUALITIES NEEDED
Good customer service skills, honesty and reliability.
Previous experience of working with the public, particularly in a customer service role.
Have a polite and helpful manner.
Be honest and trustworthy.
Have a smart personal appearance.
Be well organised.
Be reliable and responsible.
Use initiative for recognising when additional tasks need to be done.
Can work well alone and in a team.
Can deal with busy times calmly and professionally.
YOUR LONG TERM PROSPECTS
Receptionist working for 67 Pall Mall may be able to progress to Senior receptionist position. Promotional prospects may be better for people with qualifications in customer service or hospitality.
