About the role and our team

Join our team as a Receptionist & Administrative Officer in our Isle of Man Public Transport team for the Department of Infrastructure!

In this role, you will be managing the Reception area with a busy customer enquiry point which ranges from supporting staff with general administration through to working on design and social media projects to assist our Marketing Department, giving you a great variety to this position’s role.

Being at the Transport HQ is unique as it’s the central depot of Public Transport for not just buses but minibuses for Patient Transfer, Connect Villages, Educational Transport, HireMe and the Isle of Man Railways comprising the Heritage Railways, Douglas Bay Horse Trams, Manx Electric Railways and Snaefell Mountain Railways.

In 2023 we have two significant milestones of the Heritage Railways with 150 years of Steam and 130 years of the Manx Electric Railways. We are planning festival weeks and celebrations which will involve extra marketing campaigns, staff support which the role could support in.

You will be joining our energised team who themselves have to multitask numerous roles on a day to day basis. It can be pressured and requires a calm, positive and diplomatic individual who can balance both customers by phone and in person as well as help organise administrative support for the staff and Senior Management at Public Transport.
