What’s the role about?


We are looking to recruit an experienced Real Estate Manager into our Property function. The team itself is responsible for managing the Partnership’s real estate assets which touch many sectors, Retail, Office, Distribution, Residential, Land and Leisure and a separate small third party Sublet estate.


We are looking for experience either in Distribution & Head Office Estate or Leisure, Hotels & Sublet Estate and welcome those that feel they have a relevant level of skills and experience to help us drive the future of property within the John Lewis Partnership.


What you’ll be doing as a Real Estate Manager


As an Estate Manager you will be required to manage occupational costs, lease compliance, acquisitions, disposals, whilst representing JLP in the Property Market, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Your role will also involve protecting the Partnership’s legal interests in property, driving down occupancy costs, adding value, increasing income and responding to JLP’s evolving business plan.


This opportunity will offer challenges on a daily basis and a chance to play a pivotal role in the building of the John Lewis Partnership’s future.


What you’ll have


  • We are looking for an experienced Estate Manager who has the ability to display a level of commercial awareness in tune with the aspirations of the John Lewis Partnership.

  • We are looking for someone that feels at ease with dealing with a variety of stakeholders internal and external, senior or otherwise.

  • Experience in negotiation of varying complexity as well as the budget management skills are seen as vital components to this role.


What else can you bring


  • Qualified Chartered Surveyor
  • Post qualification experience in asset management, preferably distribution /commercial

orientated

  • Wide ranging technical experience to include rates, rentals, service charges.
