About the programme:
This role offers exposure and experience to various elements of the four main professions – Investment, Divestment, Development and Planning (IDP) – within the Watkin Jones IDP business area working on a rotational basis. The IDP team is split into Hubs, which are individual project teams pulling in a variety of expertise to acquire sites and develop them into new homes with appropriate risk adjusted returns for our clients.
- Investment: The identification and acquisition of development sites in line with key targets and performance metrics.
- Development: lead on the design and design input, including costs and technical risk items from initial acquisition stage through the planning stage and until handover to the delivery team
- Planning: working with the Hubs to negotiate and secure planning permissions across the Group
- Divestment: The disposal of development assets in line with key targets and performance metrics.
During the two-year programme, you’ll be offered the chance to rapidly develop professionally and personally, working side-by-side with IDP leaders and wider team learning on the job. In addition, you will have access to the guidance, support, and training to enable you to achieve your short-term and long-term career goals.
We'd like to offer our graduates a permanent role at the end of the programme, but this isn't set in stone. We'll work with you to identify suitable opportunities in our business which match your talent and fit with your longer-term goals. About you:
We’re looking for you to have a qualification at a degree and diploma/ masters’ level in a property related qualification (acceptable to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) to enable membership) If you have work experience to support your application, great but if not don’t worry, passion and drive are just as important.
