**RAPID RESPONSE HCA NEEDED**
New exciting career opportunity for travelling health care assistant - Must Drive and be very Flexible
We are a rapidly growing Complex Care company looking for a motivated person to join our team who shares our vision to offer excellent care and be responsive to cover shifts
- Salary: £25,000 per year, (plus overtime) & Mileage
- Must Drive and be willing to travel distance around the Staffordshire / Stoke Area
- The ability to care for Children/Adults with complex care needs - Learning Disability, Autism and Mental health needs in their own homes
- Must either be trained in the following or willing to have further training in the following:
Medication Administration
PEG / PEJ / JEJ Management
Epilepsy management / Buccal Administration etc
Tracheostomy Care
Ventilation Care
Suction trained
Moving and Handling
and any other complex procedure that may apply
- Ability to work with a variety of people and manage families as well as clients, be very professional at all times
- Flexibility is a MUST to cover emergency shifts as and when needed - this could be at short notice, to assist in new client set-ups and holiday cover (You will have 2 protected days off per week)
OUR LOCATIONS:
Driving is essential as all clients are community based - Areas include Stone, Tamworth, Burton-on-Trent, Stoke-on-Trent, Cannock, Wolverhampton and Walsall
REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess the motivation and initiative to work in a fast-paced growing company
- Experience of clients with complex clinical care needs
- Experience of clients with Learning Disability/Autism care needs
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Caring approach and nature
- Positive mindset with a ‘Can Do’ attitude and Solution Focused approach
- Deliver Person-Centred Service and be very professional at all times
- Work in partnership with nurses / healthcare staff
FUNCTION OF ROLE:
- You will be responsible for covering shifts on client care packages, working alongside an experienced Care manager / Nursing team to ensure that all shifts are filled
- Setting up new packages of care and new staffing of services - shadowing and inducting new carers
- Follow accident and incident reporting procedures.
- Support carers to deliver. excellent standards of care
- Monitor changes in client health, behaviours and circumstances and respond appropriately when this change.
- Ensure services delivered by iCare Living meet CQC legal standards
- Work in partnership with service users, their family, carers, advocates, other healthcare professionals
KEY DUTIES
- Assessing new clients and completing shadowing plans
- Undertake shift cover as and when needed - this maybe at short notice
- Shadowing and mentoring new employees
- Carry out spot checks and follow up performance reviews with care staff
- Work as part of the team to ensure our systems of work remain compliant with CQC / CCG’s, local authority and commissioners.
