Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Presales Technical Manager in 4G/5G RAN technology.
Role purpose:
The organization has an opportunity for an experienced Technical Presales Manager for 4G/5G RAN. As Presales Manager, you have exciting career opportunities at a time when team is developing 4G/5G Mobile technology required to interconnect people offering broadband speeds up to ~5 Gbps per subscriber over wireless connectivity (matching wired networks), control machines, objects & devices for industrial, healthcare and defence use cases. As a RAN Presales manager, you will interface with Capgemini’s sales, product line management (PLM), engineering teams to churn out technical proposals based on customer requirements. Some travel to customer sites will be required, hence your willingness to travel abroad for short trips.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include
- Understanding of technical requirements for the 5G RAN/oRAN architecture and deployment aspects for the consumption of engineering teams
- Develop and present proposals and quotations to support sales goals and objectives.
- Working with sales team and engineering to define technical requirements for the for Capgemini’s 5G and 4G RAN product lines for OEMs, network service provider customers
- Manage product and collaborate with the Product Line Management team and other stake holders to define the product strategy for Capgemini’s 4G/5G portfolio
- Build thought leadership and brand awareness for Telecom capabilities through development of whitepapers, workshops, support of collateral development, and customer/industry presentations
- Lead technical discussions with System Integrators and service providers
- Providing guidance to sales team/PLM in architectural decisions. Supporting technical sales and marketing
- Supporting the associated Business Plans, Internal Plans of Record (POR), External Product Plans, External Roadmaps, Feature Commitment Tracking, RFF (Request for Feature) Process
- Understanding the competitive landscape and market opportunities for Capgemini in this area
- In the performance of these duties, applicant will interface with Customers, Sales, Marketing, Product Line Managers, R&D, Customer Service, Business Development, Manufacturing and Cross-BU Teams.
Key Knowledge Areas:
- In-depth knowledge of the Telecom markets and experience in working across product development life cycle as well as testing and standards.
- Knowledge of 5G service-based architecture and 5G specifications as defined by 3GPP Knowledge of 4G and 5G protocols and call flows.
- Knowledge of Virtualization, vRAN, o-RAN and Container based deployment models
- Working within the Agile Development processes and DevOps environment for continuous software development and delivery Prior experience working with OEMs/NSP/ODMs.
- Ability to communicate and interact across a wide range of customer and industry stakeholders and C-level executives. Comfortable presenting to large audiences and in public forums.
Key qualifications for the role:
- 7-15 years of experience working in fixed or mobile broadband industry or similar, with a strong working knowledge of telecommunication systems and networks including 3G, 4G, and emerging 5G standards and network architectures primarily for RAN, oRAN and vRAN side.
- Prior experience in Pre-sales/Technical Solution as individual contributor and owned RFP/RFI responses.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitator skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interface with various levels of vendor, customers and internal teams for all aspects of the products. Software Engineering experience is a plus.
- Experience with 3GPP 4G & 5G RAN Architecture and deployment mode, such as NSA, SA, TDD/FDD, Sub6, mmW. RAN layer wise understanding of CU/DU and internal modules like MAC, RCL, PDCP, SDAP, RRC, RRM, OAM etc.
- Experience defining 5G use cases and call flows that span multiple 5G Functions working with Sales, Engineering, and customers.
- Familiar with Cloud native technologies, virtualization and NFV architectures such as ETSI MANO, OSM, and ONAP as well as container-based deployment models.
- Experience working within the Agile Development processes and DevOps environment for continuous software development and delivery.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and others may be helpful.
- Customer-facing experience creating solutions and defining requirements is required,
- Ability to solve business, technical, and logistical problems.
- Ability to work with others, communicate, and foster teamwork.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent or better
- Aptitude and attitude in picking up new technologies, requirements understanding and also providing recommended approaches/solutions.
