Job overview
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Oncology nurse with significant Oncology experience. You must have an understanding of systemic anti-cancer treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy and be motivated to continue developing a service in CAS caring for our patients.
This exciting position will involve you working alongside existing nurse specialist teams at both NUH & KMH.
The successful applicant will work in collaboration with members of the multi-professional team, in coordinating a smooth pathway of care.
You will be an expert resource to patients, carers and clinical teams in relation to breast cancer. This will include working autonomously, managing a case load of breast cancer patients undergoing treatment and developing and setting up Nurse led clinics.

Main duties of the job
This will be for a two year secondment.
We want to provide a full holistic service to all our breast cancer patients that are having chemotherapy.
You will care and support patients through oncological treatment pathways and follow up to ensure the provision of safe, seamless, appropriate services, thus maximising the health and quality of life of the patient and carers and improving the quality and efficiency of health care delivery.
You will be instrumental in the setting up of the service and work with the existing breast care nurses.
Act as resource to wider cancer team and other tumour sites.
To work closely with services already in place for Oncology & Palliative Care in providing holistic and age appropriate care.
To provide specialist training across functional boundaries as required

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 1st Level registered Nurse with current registration with NMC
- First level degree or significant experience within the speciality
Desirable criteria
- Masters level

- Significant post-registration experience, at Band 6 or above, within Oncology
- Evidence of leading organisational change

- Experience of developing standards, guidelines and policies

- Ability to lead and introduce change.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
