Job description
We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated Radiographer to join a small Interventional Radiography team, who, in conjunction with the wider IR MDT, provide a high quality and patient centred IR service for the population of Fife.
- Interventional Radiologists (NWH Based) who currently attend VHK on a rotational basis 3 days per week.
- Radiology Nurses.
- Core and rotational radiographers.
- The day-to-day imaging requirements of the IR service.
- IR / Fluoroscopy radiation protection requirements.
- The consumable devices used in IR procedures.
- Training IR rotational radiographers, student radiographers on placement, and in conjunction with the main department, assist with the diagnostic fluoroscopy training of the radiographers in the main department.
- Clinical governance of the IR department.
- Deputising for the lead IR radiographer.
The department undertakes a wide variety of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures, and also supports the main dept with general diagnostic fluoroscopy procedures. Interventional Radiology is located in the Day Intervention Unit in Phase 3 of the VHK and consists of 2 rooms: a dedicated IR Suite containing a Philips Allura Clarity FD20 Ceiling mounted C-Arm, Xper Table with a View Forum Workstation, and a general fluoroscopy room containing a Philips MD Eleva, floor mounted C-Arm & Table.
Previous experience in fluoroscopy and IR procedures is essential. Previous managerial experience and an understanding of IR consumable devices would also be an advantage.
There is currently no out of hours IR on call commitment with this post. The hours of work are 37.5 Monday – Friday, which can be flexible to suit service need.
