Job description
About the role and our team
Join our team as a Radiographer at Nobles Hospital on the Isle of Man!
Within this role, you’ll use your knowledge and skills in general radiography to produce diagnostic images for all referring Departments to aid patient care, such as General Practitioners, Hospital Consultants, Emergency Department Doctors and more.
You’ll evaluate images and make clinical judgments to determine when further images or imaging techniques are required, covering a range of examinations including theatre radiography, dental and mobile imaging and fluoroscopy.
You’ll also participate in our on-call system, performing CT Head examinations, using our very attractive on-call system (on-site and from home) that provides competitive remuneration and WTD compliant rest time.
As well as PACS, our Department has 3 digital general rooms in addition to 2 multi slice Spectral CT scanners, 2 digital Mammo units, digital dental room, 4 ultrasound units, a NM SPECT scanner and a digital angiography/screening room. We also have a 1.5T and 3T MRI scanner, further supported by 3 digital mobile units for theatre and ward work.
In addition there is a satellite unit in the North of the Island, where you’ll work single handed in a CR room with a digital dental unit providing imaging to GP and outpatient services.
You’ll be part of our dedicated team who support one another and are focused on delivering the best care possible to our community. If this sounds like something you’d love to be part of, then this could be the role for you!
What can this role offer me?
By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.
Depending on your experience, you’ll join our Department as a Band 5 or 6 Radiographer and we’ll support your rotation not just through plain film areas but also into CT, Interventional and DXA.
We can offer you experience in frontline Radiography across a range of specialties, making this an ideal opportunity to develop your Radiographic skill in a friendly, forward thinking and modern Department where there are no shortage of challenges available.
You’ll also have access to our on-site state of the art lecture facility, Keyll Darree Health and Social Care Higher Education Centre, where you can take part in courses that may interest you.
Free parking will be available to you.
