Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated Radiographers who enjoy the challenges a Major Trauma Centre (MTC) will offer within a friendly multidisciplinary team in a central London location.

St Mary’s Hospital is one of four Major Trauma Centre’s (MTC’s) in the London region with a dedicated Acute Imaging Centre containing a newly installed CT scanner and a separate Paediatric A&E. We have recently upgraded our flee of mobiles and plan to replace our A&E rooms soon.

The post will give you the opportunity to build on and consolidate your clinical skills in all areas of the General Imaging Department including A&E and Fluoroscopy across a range of specialties. Education and training are key elements of the department.

The Imaging Department at St Mary’s Hospital performs a comprehensive range of procedures over all modalities. Being flexible and innovative in your ways of working will be fundamental to your role and good communication skills are essential.

As part of the first Academic Health Science Centre, our aim is to provide world-class healthcare to our patients through excellence in research, education and training. Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is comprised of five hospitals - Charing Cross, Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea, Hammersmith, St Mary’s and the Western Eye Hospital – and integrating with Imperial College London offers 50 clinical specialities and has one of the largest portfolios in the country.

  • The role will include assisting in the provision of an efficient radiology service. This will be achieved by working as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service, whilst maintaining a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
  • Paralell to this, you would develop and improve your professional expertise via continuous professional development through in house learning from your peers and a dedicated Practice educator for Imaging.
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care. Become part of a vibrant team living our values - expert, kind, collaborative and aspirational. You’ll get an experience like no other and will fast forward your career.

Benefits include career development, flexible working and wellbeing, staff recognition scheme. Make use of optional benefits including Cycle to work, car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities. We encourage staff to have the Covid vaccination to protect themselves, patients, other colleagues as well as the wider community. Please note it is an operational requirement to comply with infection prevention and control procedures within the Trust such as lateral flow testing, handwashing and the wearing of masks, according to the procedures in place at any time or location.

As part of our continued response to Covid19 we are still conducting the majority of our interviews virtually.

We are committed to equal opportunities and improving the working lives of our staff and will consider applications to work flexibly, part-time or job share.
