We are currently recruiting for one 2023 summer interns in our R&D IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture team (IGNITE). This team develops R&D IT’s Technology Outlook, Business Architecture, IT Strategy & Roadmaps and guides large transformations that enables us to push the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines. We are a team across US, UK and Sweden. Our sites provide a collaborative environment where everyone feels comfortable and able to be themselves. Work Placement Description
Our summer 2023 internship in IGNITE offers two university students an opportunity to join our team for 12 weeks starting 5th of June. You will be gain experience of working with AZ colleagues across the world by assisting with organising the outputs of the R&D IT Strategy & EA Team into a common location that is easily accessible, standardising key documents to a consistent template. Doing research on Technology outlook in Pharma R&D and assisting Enterprise Architects on any transformations they are working on. Throughout the 12 weeks you will learn about some of the ways in which a FTSE-10 company develops IT Strategies and Roadmaps and will be supported with coaching from diverse and experienced mentors. Your mentors will also assist you with preparing a presentation to our team management about a topic relevant to your experience and the work we do. These roles will be on-site in our Luton office. Some degree of remote working and travel to other AstraZeneca UK sites (Cambridge or Macclesfield) will be required.
Essential skills/capabilities required:
We are looking for people who:
- Have a keen interest in business and technology want to develop an understanding of Technology Innovation, Business and Technology Architecture.
- Has good artistic, Powerpoint, Excel and Visual skills
- Possess both excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Use their own judgment and ask for help when necessary
- Are adaptable, flexible, proactive and demonstrate a passion for learning
- Work maturely and independently but can also contribute effectively as part of a team
Entry Requirements:
5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades 9 to 5 including Maths and English
Have achieved a minimum of 3 A Levels at grade B or above (minimum 120 UCAS points)
Be currently studying at university in Business Studies or Computer Science
Successful candidates will be asked to attend a virtual assessment between 6th March and 17 March 2023.
