Job description
JOB PURPOSE
- Working together with the PC R&D Modelling & Informatics Manager, to build a priority modelling programme to support PC Innovation and Science & Technology through the: design and planning of experiments, analyses of data, building and validating predictive models and interpretation and exploitation of analysis outcomes.
- Provision of statistics, machine learning and data science expertise across a range of PC R&D disciplines to both deliver modelling programme and build skills and capability in PC teams.
- Engagement and collaboration with global multi-disciplinary teams including both internal and external partners.
- Responsibility for the quality and defensibility of statistical analyses, models and data interpretation.
- Engagement in continuous learning initiatives to keep abreast of state of the art analytical, statistical and machine learning methods.
- Demonstrated fluency in applying statistics methods in scientific research with a likely Masters in Statistics, Biostatistics or equivalent.
- Experience of applying statistical Design of Experiments approaches.
- Hands-on technical expertise in data visualization - understanding patterns in data.
- Strong technical background in multivariate statistical methods.
- Hands-on experience with professional statistical/modelling software such as SAS, Python, R, MATLAB and JMP.
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills; the ability to frame a problem.
- Ability to collaborate and consult effectively in global teams across time-zones and cultures.
