The Opportunity
We have an exciting new vacancy for a Quarry Operations Manager to join and manage our high performing team at our Westleigh Limestone quarry in Devon.
As the Quarry Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing extraction and production activities within a limestone quarry with an annual output of around 900,000 tonnes.
- You’ll act as the Statutory 8.1(c) on site.
- You will help maintain the financial performance of the site in line with budget requirements ensuring processes are implemented to report all information required for accounting purposes.
- Implement and ensure compliance of the company’s health and safety rules, Quality assurance and environmental policies
- Work strategically to ensure quarry operations are carried out in accordance with the geotechnical assessment and quarry design plan.
Who you are
- Understanding of Quarry Regulations, Statutory Health & Safety and Employment legislation.
- Currently hold SHE NVQ Level 3 or QCF Equivalent and Geotechnical 4.
- Nebosh qualification or similar.
- You will be a strong leader of people as we have a talented team on site, a key part of this role is to support the development of staff on site and in the wider area.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others.
- Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities.
- Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility.
