Ingrebourne Valley Ltd (IVL) is an accredited company who extract and supply primary building materials to the London and wider South East construction market, as well as restoring brownfield sites to create useful spaces for agriculture, ecology or public open space. The company operate quarries which provide a range of sand and gravel products as well as restoration sites where the company import inert reclamation soils to remediate existing sites.

Due to the opening of new sites, an outstanding long-term opportunity has arisen for Quarry Managers at these sites.

QUARRY MANAGER ROLE

The successful candidate should have previous practical experience in all aspects of sand and gravel quarrying operations from extraction to restoration work.

Ideally, the role will suit a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an understanding of appropriate procedures, who ideally has experience and ability to lead a team and is able to get employees to buy into them to help them grow and develop.

You will be customer focused, ensuring our high values of service and quality standards are met and maintained.

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Completed, or working towards a SHE NVQ Level 6 or above.
  • Excellent awareness of current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience, which will comprise of project management.
  • A sound understanding of plant and machinery, including maintenance planning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Quarries Regulations.

Day to day work activities :

  • Closely monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard.
  • Liaising with staff on site and dealing with any technical or staffing issues that may arise.
  • Undertaking regular site inspections and risk assessment in order to comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Examining the materials produced to ensure a high quality.

Requirements :

  • You must hold a full driving license.
  • The successful candidate will preferably have a good knowledge of sand and gravel processing plant management, including experience of earthworks and restoration process.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge by degree, diploma or through relevant experience.
