Role - Quantity Surveyor
Location - York
Salary – Circa £40,000

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team, based at our Full Sutton Site in York. We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our existing commercial team. We have a successful track record of delivering projects on and under budget and as part of that team you will be required to deliver the same. You must have an understanding of quantity surveying processes and have the knowledge and skills required to assist with commercially managing a project from pre-construction up to final account status. We will give you real responsibility and exposure within your role and full training and support will be provided to help develop you to become a valuable member of the Commercial team.
Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the designated project specifications, pricing
structures, programmes, and contractual conditions, etc, upon which the project
offer is based.
- Assist with pricing any variations to the client, through use of variation orders.
- Assist with pricing Non Conformance Reports throughout project
- Assist with the supplier vesting throughout entirety of project
- Assist with onsite construction records: Daily Diaries, SAN's NCR,s DRS, Labour
Resource, etc. Monitor records to ensure they are recorded correctly and all necessary
information has been included.
- Assist with all Supplier/Sub-contract commercial management including variation
accounts and processing of requests for payment.
- Attend internal project related meetings, recording all actions, agreements and any
unresolved matters.
- Assist with updating the project status schedule, issuing on a weekly basis
- Assist with managing the day-to-day Company cost control, monitoring and reporting
systems including recommending and implementing improvements.
- Change management control - Identification, communication, costing and assist with
resolution of changes to agreed scope of works.
- Provide commercial & contractual advice to staff.
- Manage monthly supplier applications and issue the monthly payment notices.
- Manage scope drift to the contract, raising differences directly to the Lead Quantity
Surveyor and Project Manager
- Assist with commercial construction related activities I.E On/Off hiring of plant and
equipment, Handrail counts and charges for leftover handrail,
- Monitor labour and plant resource against planned.
Job Type: Full-time
