CR3 are currently representing a growing Medium sized developer who are seeking an Quantity Surveyor to work in HQ in Kent.
This position would suit a Trainee/Assistant Quantity Surveyor from a developer background looking to step into a Quantity Surveyor role and build a team around them in the near future.

Duties of the Quantity Surveyor:
- Support the Head of Commercial in production of monthly build budgets
- Build budget preparation for new sites
- Review and comment on planning or working drawings and provide opportunities for value engineering
- Cost risk management and reporting on a monthly basis, to include forecasting
- Raise purchase orders for both sub-contractors and materials, collating contractual documentation including RAMs and insurances
- Sub-contractor negotiations following a successful tender process
- Dispute resolution with sub-contractors and main contractors
- Carry out material take-offs and provide the build department with call-off schedules against build programmes
- Day-to-day communication with the build department
- Relationship management with sub-contractors
- Rate negotiations with suppliers on a regular basis
- Working closely with banks, surveyors and preparing the monthly reports along with the submission of drawdowns
- Involvement with Land department to assist with new opportunities
- Ability to provide technical support when working closely with consultants
Quantity Surveyor requirements:
- Ability to read and understand drawings and build programmes
- Detailed understanding of contracts and commercial negotiations
- Good understanding of the tendering process and any Bill of Quantities
- Reasonable knowledge of building regulation requirements and standards
- Understanding of construction of both apartments and housing schemes
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively meet the expectations and requirements of internal departments and external clients
- Detail focused and hands on, with a strong work and team ethic
- Ability to communicate with senior members of the team
- Good working knowledge of MS-Office
