About the Opportunity
As Quantity Surveyor, you would be responsible for supporting the Commercial Manager in delivering the Contract Management Plans and maintaining the relationship with the Client, Contractors/Subcontractors, Suppliers or Service Providers for the relevant contracts.
This would include the administration of the contract change process, contractual correspondence, applications for payment and financial reporting. All contracts will be managed in accordance with Jacobs Management System and procedures for contract management.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to procedures and Contract Terms and Conditions to secure delivery with certainty.
Role will be based out the Peterborough or Humber Office.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Commercial Manager in the day-to-day management of a portfolio of Contracts, providing robust and accurate data to feed into internal and external financial and progress reporting.
- Managing change management process, Early Warnings, Compensation Events, PMI’s etc. via CEMAR and Contract Administration Trackers in a timely manner.
- Preparation of tender documents, tender analysis and production of award recommendation papers.
- Measuring project progress and performance against Key Performance Indicators and Incentivisation arrangements.
- Support to Project Managers/Project Engineers in resolving commercial issues with the Client.
- Ensure all procurement and governance processes are adhered to within the designated projects and the correct levels of authority are obtained for the procurement of goods, services, consumables and sub-contracts.
- Use procurement plan to interact with Commercial Manager to agree forms of contract and procurement activities to leverage best outcome for the business.
- Contract mobilisation and managing Sub-Contractor relationships as required to deliver the contract requirements.
- Experience of managing Sub-Contractors under contracts.
- Understanding of contract preparation, procurement procedures and contract administration.
- Experience of NEC3 and NEC4 contract management.
- Background in either the nuclear, oil & gas, renewables or water sectors.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Clients and colleagues.
- Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all post contract service delivery and to solve problems.
- Familiar with management systems and procedures for procurement and contract management.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying and / or a proven track record of relevant experience with at least 5 years’ experience in the industry.
