The Boeing Defence United Kingdom (BDUK) is currently hiring a Quality Specialist in the UK, in the Bristol area.

This role is based at the BDUK Bristol offices to provide Programme Quality Specialist support to the BDUK Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes. This is a key role in supporting new work capture/bids and providing quality assurance against current contracts, the MRP Regulatory and AS9100/AS9110 standards.
Boeing Defence UK Ltd is looking to appoint a Quality Specialist to take responsibility for the provision of Programme Quality Assurance and Compliance monitoring of the Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes activities. A person who is dynamic with a strong ability for self-motivation to lead their own tasks and objectives. BDUK’s Aircraft Programmes Quality Management System (QMS) is approved by the MAA and meets the requirements of DAOS, MAOS and CFAOS.
The Aircraft Programmes Quality system is also certified to ISO9001:2015, AS9100D and AS9110C. The company plans to extend these accreditations to new sites and seek additional certifications in support of its diverse growing business needs. The Fixed Wing Aircraft Programme Quality Specialist will essentially be responsible for contributing to the maintenance of the current certifications and supporting the delivery of new ones as the company grows.
The Fixed Wing Aircraft Programme Quality Specialist will be a member of the Aircraft Programmes Quality function, taking day to day tasking and reporting to the Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes Quality Lead and will report on Quality matters to the Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes Quality Manager, with direct access to the Form 4 Aircraft Programmes Quality Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reviewing internal occurrence reports, DASORs and acting as lead on-site safety/quality investigator
- Lead auditor, ensuring that all requirements are audited through internal audit every 12 months against MRP Regulations and AS9100/AS9110 standards
- Establishing and maintaining a quality management system, to support/maintain the Boeing Fixed Wing approvals to MRP and 3rd party certified requirements
- Liaising with Boeing Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) and Supply Management & Procurement (SM&P) in assessing contractors and sub-contractors, for extension of the quality system. Including reviewing Supplier Statement of Works (SSOW) for new suppliers, or for contract reviews with existing suppliers and assisting SQA
- Support customer and supplier occurrence reports with appropriate investigations
- Review all new and reviewed document control changes, within the Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes requirements
- Review, as part of the Functional Change Board process, all regulatory changes and provide impact statements
- Remain at all times cognisant of the importance of Human Factors and lead/manage your team tasks accordingly
- Support the Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes bid teams with document reviews, artefacts and solutions for new work bids, through campaign, mobilization and execution
- Supporting Boeing Fixed Wing Aircraft Programmes with regards to on-site and contract Quality Assurance
- Supporting customer on-site meetings with regards to Quality Occurrence Reports
- Other Quality related tasks as directed by the Quality Team Lead and Quality Manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting bids and proposals
- Lead/ Internal Auditor AS9100 /ISO9001
- HNC qualification or equivalent
- Experience Aerospace / Defence background
- Previous experience of Quality Assurance Management
- Knowledge of MAA Regulations
- Quality Management techniques
- Continuous Improvement Techniques and Management
