We are looking to appoint a Quality Officer (Assurance and Enhancement) to work within the Department of Quality Assurance and Enhancement. The Department is situated within the Academic Registrar’s portfolio together with Registry and School Professional Services. The mission of the Department is to work in partnership with academic, professional service colleagues, students and the Students’ Association to safeguard the academic standards of the University’s taught and research degree provision and to enrich the quality of the student learning experience through the promotion of quality enhancement. Central to this mission is a commitment to support the development and implementation of effective and robust policies, regulations and practices on quality assurance and enhancement.
Under the overall direction of the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Manager, the role-holder will take responsibility for the provision of professional support in relation to the processes and procedures that underpin quality assurance, enhancement and accreditation at University and School or Academic Unit level.
We are looking for an experienced administrator with excellent organisational and communication skills to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate will be motivated, enthusiastic and committed to providing high quality professional support. The candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent and have well developed IT skills to include relevant office systems and database packages. It would be desirable for candidates to have experience of working in Scottish higher education and an understanding of quality enhancement and assurance practice and issues within the sector.
