We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs. The role In this high profile role reporting to the Associate Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for a defined group of wards, will be available to ward staff, patients and carers and be responsive to their experiences of care and concerns about the ward environment. Your key responsibilities will include: Promote and role modelling the Charity values, leadership expectations and behaviours. Holding an advisory, supportive and coaching role as a member of the leadership team for the wards you are clinically responsible for Providing clinical oversight and leadership support for nursing staff to maintain clinical standards of care and implement quality improvement Ensuring that Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards are met and exceeded Lead a culture of ensuring patient safety through adherence to legal obligations and safety requirements by reviewing and challenging risks and progress on plans to reduce risk Undertaking specific service improvement and development projects, as directed by the Associate Director of Nursing or Director of Nursing, using quality improvement methodology Keeping up to date with national, local and organisational developments, demonstrating financial awareness, and working in accordance with prudent health care principles Providing a visible presence on your wards, leading by example to act as a role model for ward staff Acting as a ‘change agent’ in driving continuous quality improvement In order to provide greater management support to our wards out of hours, all our Quality Matrons will rotate with our General Managers to provide full out of hours cover across seven days also providing Operational/Bronze Command cover for Critical and Major Incidents response. About you Holding a current UK professional registration, you’ll be an experienced, inspiring and compassionate nursing leader with a high level knowledge of all current issues related to professional quality practice. You will be an excellent communicator with strong influencing and people management skills. You will be skilled at analysing complex clinical issues and able to develop recommendations and deliver against them. You will be comfortable in decision making and problem solving. With high levels of personal integrity you will be well experienced in winning hearts and minds through periods of complex change. You will also be highly adept at managing effective relationships to a senior level and a strong track record of meeting quality targets. You will have both the breadth and depth of skills to fulfil the role described above and high levels of resilience to lead and embed significant change. Interested?
