Job description

Reporting to the Director for Organisation Development, high level responsibilities include:

The Group is headquartered on the original 1938 site at Castleisland Factory in Portadown, with UK manufacturing sites in Portadown, Dewsbury and Sunderland.

The Ulster Carpets Group includes wool processing company, Ulster Yarns Ltd, based in Yorkshire; Danish carpet manufacturer, Danfloor; technical textile machinery manufacturer, GTM and Ulster North East, both located in Sunderland; and Axfelt, manufacturers of a fully sustainable underlay, based in South Devon. The Group who have recently acquired Alternative Flooring, also includes luxury interiors brands, Roger Oates Design Ltd, designers and makers of unique stripe runners and rugs, based in Herefordshire and Solidwool, a unique composite material founded on transforming unwanted wool into beautiful, lasting design.

  • The successful candidate will possess:
  • Educated to degree level preferably in an engineering, materials, textiles or related field
  • Proven record of streamlining a Quality Management System
  • Up to date knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015
  • Experience of developing an integrated management system manual and associated SOPs
  • Management of product technical specifications, product testing and CE marking
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with sales teams, clients and suppliers
