Quality Manager
Job description
Hybrid work available
Background of department/role
The Quality and Standards Office (QSO) is excited to be recruiting for a Quality Manager to join the department’s management team. QSO has a central role in ensuring that there is effective academic governance and a rigorous and responsive quality assurance infrastructure to support it. Working in partnership with faculties, schools and academic staff, QSO plays the lead role in ensuring that the University meets its obligations to external bodies, such as the Office for Students and Professional Regulatory and Statutory Bodies and that it keeps current with sector best practice in quality assurance.
Due to internal progression within the University, QSO is recruiting a Quality Manager to join us on a permanent basis. While this is a full-time role, the University has a flexible working policy so all hours and working patterns can be explored. The University is committed to delivering academic courses and outstanding student experiences which transform individuals, create knowledge, enrich communities, and build a sustainable future.
You will help us achieve this by providing expert advice and leadership on areas of quality assurance, including continuous course improvement, periodic review and external examiners, ensuring we meet our external obligations and keep current with sector best practice in quality assurance. You’ll be working collaboratively with colleagues across the University to deliver effective quality assurance procedures and data-informed decision making.
You will be part of the Quality and Standards management team, leading specific areas but also working collaboratively and flexibly, with opportunities to expand your knowledge and expertise. You will report directly to the Director of Quality and Standards
We are at an exciting point in the development of our quality and standards work with the growth of collaborative provision, the development of electronic workflow for key systems, the expected launch of a curriculum management system and a strengthening and evolving of our continuous course improvement approach. This role will give you the opportunity to deliver services and contribute to project work that will shape quality and standards at Canterbury Christ Church University.
You will be committed to ensuring an enhanced student experience through your work. You will manage your own work priorities and line manage the quality administrator to ensure delivery against objectives and identified key performance indicators and ensure high quality service across the team. You will have an excellent command of detail and strong written and verbal communication skills with an open and concise style, able change and adapt your communication to the intended audience. You will have a project management approach with effective and efficient use of technology. You will be able to demonstrate collaborative working within a complex organisation and extensive knowledge of quality assurance within the HE Sector.
We work in a hybrid way that ensures we are flexible to both business and individual needs and remain connected to each other and our campus. In practice this means a mix of days working in Canterbury alongside the flexible choice of working from home too if that suits you. Occasionally you may attend one of our other campuses or collaborative partners.
