BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to lead a diverse team of Supplier Quality professionals as part of the Electronics Category, with Suppliers across the United States. The role will report to the Director of Supplier Quality - Electronics Category. The Supplier Quality Manager will support the development and optimization of the Supplier Quality processes in support of all Programs and Businesses in the Electronics Systems Sector, targeting continued improvement of quality and delivery performance. This role will have direct reports across the Electronics Category and the Manager will need to have the ability to transition from coordination to execution as circumstances require. The selected candidate will need to support Strategic Sourcing initiatives aligned with Company-wide goals and objectives and will have experience with and an understanding of sourcing and execution management in Aerospace and Defense, across DoD and selected Commercial procurements; will also need to engage in the deployment of AS9145, Lean Six-Sigma and multiple Quality Science Tools. The Supplier Quality Manager will be a leader able to build consensus, collaboration, teamwork and open support within the organization as well as with the supply base. The candidate will also help train the team on the tools and tactics to apply to prevent problems during start up and development activities, as well as corrective actions and mistake-proofing during production phases to assure business success. Coaching of new team members and development of their technical and quality systems skills will be required.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of Electronics Supply Chain strategies to achieve the established Supplier Quality goals and objectives.
- Ensure the assigned team of Supplier Quality Engineers perform their duties, gain the required skills and collaborate with suppliers in alignment with category and business strategies.
- Assist the Electronics Category Director in continuously improving responsiveness to internal customers in order to meet service level expectations while optimizing resources.
- Drive rapid Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to prevent defects and communicate to internal partners.
- Ability to work directly with suppliers at a tactical level on-site or remotely, engage and partner with them to address concerns, improvement efforts and prevention activities to achieve superior quality performance, protecting BAE Systems programs and business interests.
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers who provide the necessary technology and materials, which support strategy and business plans. Help ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting continuous improvement initiatives both from a strategic and tactical perspective focusing on quality improvements.
- Support the monitoring, reporting, and improvement of key supplier KPIs, understanding root cause(s) of changes in metrics, identify trends and associated action plans, developing and nurturing a long-term collaborative culture with all Electronics Category suppliers.
- Drive AS9145 deployment in key suppliers of the category supply base to mitigate risk.
- Ensure collaboration with the business area Supplier Quality teams to drive the SCAR, Audit, FAI, Change Management, Risk management and FAI processes.
- Support the engagement of key supplier’s management in business review processes to monitor metrics, identify trends and implement programs to assure demonstrated performance improvements.
- Manage and develop a high-performing and diverse team of Supplier Quality Engineers, enhancing the organization quality culture through coaching and technical engagement, ensuring the timely information flow to all assigned team members, stakeholders and suppliers for the assigned team.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality of Manufacturing
- Minimum of 10 years of direct re related experience, 5 or more years managing teams
- High ethical standards. Models and supports organization’s goals and values; adapts to changing conditions; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.
- Technical knowledge of aerospace and defense electronics commodities. Well-versed in commercial and defense quality practices & techniques, including AS9145 and Lean Six Sigma.

- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation. Uses time effectively, prioritizes and organizes workflow; can orchestrate multiple activities at once.

- Required to travel as much as 50% of the time, a mixture of local, regional and nationwide.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Recent education or certification in industry standards for Electronics, such as IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and Mil-Std-883 (TM 2017).
- Lean Six-Sigma Practitioner, such as a Black Belt or Green Belt Certification from a recognized organization.
- Experience with AS9145 or APQP implementation, with in-depth knowledge as team member on the creation of tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plans.
- Thorough knowledge of Quality Science Tools, including SPC, DMAIC, and Structure Problem-Solving tools such as 8D, Shainin Red-X or other.
- Engaged Manager leading with transparency, teamwork, creating solid relationships directly with each team member and amongst the teams.
- Familiar with Industry efforts towards Diversity, Equality and Inclusion.
