The role
As a Quality Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll oversee a large team of IQA’s who will be supporting apprenticeship delivery across our Royal Auxiliary, Army Veterinary, REME and Royal Police contracts.
Day to day, you’ll ensure accuracy and consistency of delivery across both the internal and subcontracted delivered provision across the MOD contract focusing on external compliance.
- Manage a team of IQAs to ensure quality compliance and adherence to the IQA strategy
- To conduct quality assurance activities in line with the IQA strategy and awarding bodies
- Create, implement and update policies and procedures
- Manage the internal quality cycle process. Including the development and monitoring of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) in conjunction with the individual lines of business.
- Ensure all improvement actions identified are implemented in line with the plan
- Train staff on and conduct observations of teaching, learning and assessment providing clear, constructive, supportive and timely feedback
- Support delivery staff to create and implement action plans to ensure students are actively engaged and enable student progression
- Share best practice and lead standardisation activities to enhance and develop the programme and ensure consistency of assessment decisions
- Maintain and review delivery staff CPD records and record details
- Work closely with assessors, Team Leaders and Programme managers to develop on-going development plans for staff
- Deliver training, mentoring and support to new and existing delivery staff to ensure compliance with the teaching and assessment standards
- Complete reports to be submitted to the Contract director and the authority as required to meet Quality KPI’s
Essential experience of the Quality Manager
- Apprenticeship quality management experience.
- Extensive experience of managing staff to maximise productivity, implement change and deal with conflict.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of quality standards including Ofsted, OFS and QAA
- Comprehensive understanding of the Education Inspection Framework and compliance
- Clear proactive approach to planning in order to achieve outcomes
Although this role is working with an MoD contact, prior military experience is not a necessity. We welcome application from Civil, Commercial and Academic organisations.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
