The Role: Quality Improvement Engineer

Location: Hemswell, DN21 5TU

Shift Pattern/Working Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm

Salary: Up to £35,200

We are the UK's largest and most technically advanced PET bottle recycling plant, we play a critical role in ensuring we continue provide environmental friendly packaging solutions to our customers. We are actively seeking for a motivated Quality Improvement Engineer to join our large dynamic team at our site in Hemswell.

As a Quality Improvement Engineer, you will embark on a development journey with CTUK to enhance your skills and build your experience. CTUK will commit to providing you with an in-depth understanding of the Quality Department.

Purpose of the role:

To ensure compliance of inbound and outbound materials, whilst reviewing production to ensure performance is optimum.

Key responsibilities will include:·

To ensure that the process is working optimally:

  • Inspection, sampling and testing of raw materials
  • Use of test results to monitor performance of all assets, identify trends and produce action plans to resolve
  • Monitor by-products to ensure compliance and identify variability in raw materials and/or the process
  • Review the process, recommend and implement areas of improvement o Fulfil the internal auditors schedule and audit the process against standard operating procedures
  • Ensuring that outgoing material is correctly dispatched and within compliance
  • Working alongside customers to build relationships and ensure that their needs are understood and satisfied
  • Provide reports on performance, including right first time

Other duties include:

  • Leading investigations into Observations and Complaints to ensure that the root cause is identified and preventative actions are implemented
  • Leading trials and process improvements
  • Own the Suppliers Complaint Process
  • Develop new test methods when required
  • Fulfilling customer and quality requirements, for example bag inspections, material transfers and sampling
  • Provide cover for the Quality Manager, Quality Control Lab Technicians and Laboratory & Compliance Team Leader.

To be successful in the role, you will require:

  • Quality Engineer qualification or experience working in a similar role
  • A manufacturing background or sector experience would be advantageous
  • Familiarisation of ISO 9001 and internal auditing.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience of quality testing and using problem solving techniques to determine root cause.
  • IT literate – fully versed in MS Office and ideally SAP. Comfortable with analysing numbers.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with different departments, suppliers and customer.
  • Proactive, can deliver actions to drive improvement
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and deliver results to a deadline

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £35,200.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
