At Reqiva we are working with a leader in innovative satellite communication solutions, they are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to contribute to its strategic growth plan.
As a Quality Engineer you will collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, Design, Procurement, and NPI teams. Your primary focus will be to support the product development and implementation process throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent process/quality assurance activities based on RTCA-DO254 (Hardware) and RTCA-DO178C (Software) standards to facilitate the product development process.
- Managing the implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies across product development projects.
You will be responsible for developing advanced product quality plans (APQPs), employing tools such as FMEA, MSA, and statistical process capability.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Supporting airworthiness certifications by conducting product project process assurance activities as per RTC-DO-254 and RTCA-DO-178C.
- Developing and maintaining APQPs for products throughout their lifecycle.
- Creating supplier quality performance reports for subcontract manufacturers.
- Supporting quality surveillance activities for key suppliers to ensure consistent quality standards.
- Reviewing supplier-submitted FAI reports to support the New Product Introduction Process.
- Conducting internal quality audits and participating in third-party audits.
- Managing corrective actions for non-conforming outputs from suppliers and internal incidents, as well as post-delivery customer complaints.
- Demonstratable experience in quality engineering throughout the product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of both hardware and software systems in an engineered systems context.
- Experience in applying APQP methodologies, including AQAP standards, PFMEA, DFMEA, MSA, and statistical process capability and control.
- Proven track record of working with external suppliers to support product development and managing quality issues.
- Ability to plan, execute, and manage internal quality audits.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, AS9100: Rev D, RTCA-DO-254, and RTCA-DO-178C.
- Proficient in conducting root cause and corrective action investigations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Background in telecommunications/systems within the aerospace, space, and defence sectors.
- Familiarity with RTCA-DO-254 (hardware) and RTCA-DO-178C (software) process assurance.
- IRCA recognized Internal or Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001/AS 9100 or similar.
- Knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma methodologies.
- Exposure to electronics box build supply.
