Quality Engineer

Location: Holytown, Motherwell

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: Up to £36,500 per annum, depending on experience.

The Role:

Based at our Holytown site, and reporting to the Process & Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be joining a growing team and will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of our carbon-based products.

What you will be doing:

  • Investigating the root causes of non-conformances, identifying & ensuring implementation of corrective/preventative actions to continuously improve quality.
  • Responding to customer complaints, implementing containment actions, carrying out full analysis, and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
  • Develop the quality management systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Ensuring all QMS requirements are implemented and adhered to within the Manufacturing environment.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Compiling manufacturing quality plans and test plans.
  • Reviewing production related purchase orders to ensure they contain the correct technical and quality information / detail.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to establish quality requirements and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Participate in new product development activities, ensuring quality considerations are integrated from concept to launch.

Who are we looking for?

Essential Criteria:

  • Engineering degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Quality Engineer or similar role. within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply analytical thinking to complex quality issues.

Desirable Criteria:

  • IRCA Auditor/Lead Auditor.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt.
